题目材料:
Because Chopin concentrated on musical genres considered trivial-nocturnes, mazurkas, waltzes--critics labeled him a miniaturist. This view of Chopin, which remained orthodox into the later twentieth century, is now largely discredited. Many of Chopin's large works--such as scherzos and sonatas--are longer than an average movement of Beethoven. Chopin was, in fact, the only composer of his generation who never, after the age of twenty-one, wrote a long piece that was ineffective. There are deserts with few oases in a number of works of Berlioz; and not many works of Liszt are completely exempt from some facile pages. But the elegance, distinction, and efficacy of Chopin's large forms are almost unique for the time in their success.
